Terms of Service

Welcome to TENT CHURCH. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TENT CHURCH mobile app and this website (together, the "Service") provided by TENT CHURCH ("TENT," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this minimum age and that the information you provide is accurate and current.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
• You agree to notify us right away if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
• You may not impersonate someone else, share your account, or use the Service on behalf of anyone without authorization.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or violates someone else's rights.
• Spam, send unsolicited messages, or use the Service to promote anything that conflicts with the values of our church community.
• Try to access accounts, data, or systems you're not authorized to access, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy substantial portions of the Service except as allowed by law.
• Use the Service to collect or compile information about other users without their consent.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (messages, posts, photos, schedules, etc.). By posting content, you grant TENT a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service. You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

5. Group chats, community content & safety

Group chats are visible to all members of that group. Public posts and recaps are visible to anyone with the app. Use good judgment — treat each other with kindness and remember that anything you post may be seen by leaders, fellow members, and (in the case of public posts) potential visitors.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. If you encounter a message, post, or member that violates these Terms, you can report the content or block the member from within the app. We review every report and act on it — typically within 24 hours — by removing violating content and suspending or permanently removing the users responsible. By using the Service you agree to these community standards and acknowledge that we may take action at our sole discretion to keep the community safe.

6. Giving & payments

Gifts made through the app are processed by our giving partner, Subsplash. By making a gift, you agree to Subsplash's terms and authorize the charge described at checkout. Recurring gifts will be charged on the schedule you set until you cancel them. Refunds are handled case-by-case — contact us if you have a question.

7. Notifications

By enabling notifications, you agree to receive push notifications related to features you've signed up for (group messages, followed campuses, event reminders, etc.). You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

8. Intellectual property

TENT, the TENT CHURCH logo, the brand identity, the app design, and all related materials are the property of TENT CHURCH and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use them without our written permission, except for purposes obviously intended by the Service (e.g. sharing a post link).

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — like content licenses, disclaimers, and limits of liability — will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will always be available, error-free, or meet your expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TENT CHURCH and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) CAD $50.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless TENT CHURCH and its team from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party because of content you post, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario, unless local law requires otherwise.
